Computer Scientist - Embedded Intelligent Systems (Early/Mid-Career)

We need your help in exploring and developing innovative concepts and new technologies to meet challenging and diverse national security needs spanning across security systems, robotics, unmanned aerial systems, and transportation systems. Our department is looking for Computer Scientists who, on any given day, will be challenged to:

+ Research, develop, analyze, and test embedded systems, including custom circuit boards, microcontroller firmware, and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)
+ Research/develop/analyze/test advanced and innovative sensor technologies and power electronics
+ Design and conduct experiments to evaluate sensor technologies/system performance
+ Research, develop, and evaluate algorithms in hardware and software for communications, signal processing, sensor fusion, data analytics, and human machine interfaces (HMIs)
+ Document conducted research, development, and testing results

+ Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Computer Science or related STEM discipline; OR a Bachelors degree in relevant STEM discipline and at least 4 years of related experience
+ Proven experience in:

- Software/firmware design, development, and test
- Modern software engineering methods and tools
- Algorithm development and realization of intelligent systems
- Writing technical reports and development of briefing materials
+ Can obtain a DOE Q clearance with Sigma 15 caveat
+ Ability to travel


+ Experience with the following:

- Development of HMI's
- Developing communication software across diverse protocols
- AI and Machine Learning
- Software development for Augmented and Virtual Reality applications
- Software security and cross domain implementations
- Software development in robotic systems and other unmanned systems
- Qualification of software for use in high consequence applications
- Reverse engineering of software/firmware applications
+ Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
+ Ability to participate equally well in a follower or leadership role
+ Active security clearance

Security Clearance:
