As the Content Director, you will help plan, supervise, and deliver original video and editorial content for Apple developers. You know how to blend the art and science needed to ensure measurable results while inspiring creative teams to bring strategic content initiatives to life

You will work with Apple engineers, designers and other key partners to determine what new content to produce, prioritize and schedule content development and publication, and assist content creators with script development. You will be responsible for managing work provided by outside vendors, soliciting feedback from partners, and getting necessary content approvals. You enjoy both rolling up your sleeves to create content as well as leading a cross-functional team of content producers. You'll have a unique opportunity to shape Apple's developer community growth and education.

The candidate is an experienced storyteller with a track record of delivering engaging and inspirational educational content

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in content-related role, communications, or brand or content marketing
  • Passionate about helping developers learn to build best in class apps and games
  • Deeply strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills - ability to resonate with executive partners
  • Ability to tell a story with a unique perspective which motivates action from various perspectives
  • Creativity and experience using new mediums of content delivery
  • Ambitious with an ability to create and follow plans yet flexible enough to respond to change while balancing multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience setting strategic direction and supporting go-to-market strategy that requires input from multiple teams
  • Able to seamlessly jump between strategy and hands-on execution
  • Deep understanding of and experience with social media channels
  • Experience in content marketing, from curation, creative or informational videos, to original content

Description
-Own content strategy and execution across digital channels
-Develop content positioning and release schedule to craft engaging, relevant content
-Provide mentorship on design and interpretation of content to internal teams - educate team on what makes compelling content, engaging graphics and overall successful sharing of ideas and insights
-Form relationships and appropriate feedback mechanisms to ensure Apple's developer content is as effective as possible for Apple developers
-Help guide content from "what's interesting" to "what matters"
-Assure all content meets Apple standards for quality, accuracy and timeliness
-Find, hire and supervise freelance writers, illustrators, and video editors
-Track progress on all new content production, report status, maintain schedules
-Manage video production from script development, to production, post-production, localization and publication

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree preferred, MBA or MA a plus
