RMD has an opening for a Contracts Negotiator/Sr. Contracts Negotiator within its Sustainment and Sensors Area. This role will support a major program supporting its International customers (DCS/FMS). It is a diverse cross section of countries in all regions of the world. The individual should possess an understanding of international direct commercial sales contracting; experience in either FMS and US contracting; and US and international export / import regulations.

Working as a strategic business partner within Raytheon, our ultimate aim is to deliver balanced, equitable deals that ensure mutual long-term success.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of proposals, as well as management and administration of contracts. Responsibilities include Request for Proposal (RFP) assessment, capture and proposal strategy, contract negotiation, customer engagement and collaboration, general contract administration and change management. The successful applicant will be a key customer interface for contracting matters and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining trust and cooperation while ensuring that proposed and negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and guidelines. The selected candidate will advise program management of contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks.


Required Skills:
  • 4 years of related contract administration and customer interactions experience including proposal preparation and contract negotiations.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, International Studies or related field
  • Experience with U.S. Government acquisition or Direct Commercial Sales and related regulations, e.g. FAR, DFARS, and ITAR
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally for customer negotiations and other engagements.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Experience managing production, development, or service contracts
  • Ability to understand the financial and material aspects of contracts and risk quantification
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
  • Experience working is a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective
  • Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills
  • Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts and supply chain management fundamentals
  • Juris Doctor or MBA
