The SAP Big Data Services team is looking for a creative customer engagement engineer who can help to accelerate the adoption of our service by customers. The group is responsible for implementing and maintaining open-source Apache Hadoop and Spark ecosystems as part of the SAP Data Hub portfolio. This is a fabulous opportunity to work with a team built around great engineers with decades of experience building large distributed systems at Yahoo, Google, LinkedIn, Altiscale and SAP. Expectations and Tasks

 

- Engaged with customers, manage the customer relationship and on-boarding
- Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Get to know the processes, tools, and resources required to achieve high-level customer satisfaction
- Ensure successful product adoption and sustainability
- Continuously monitor adoption progress and establish KPIs
- Continuously collect customer requirements and feedbacks
- Maintain communication with SAP teams to resolve customer issues
- Work with engineering, operations, and support to ensure successful and timely delivery
- Be engaged with communication channels and maintain them

 

Technical Expertise

 

- Working experience with Hadoop
- Working experience with Hadoop internals (MapReduce - YARN, HDFS), Pig, Hive, HBase, Spark, Sqoop
- Working experience with SQL, Hive SQL is a plus
- Working experience with networking/VMs/containers/Kubernetes
- Working experience with cloud-based technologies

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

- BS in computer science or equivalent work experience (MS is a plus)
- Multiple years of production grade development experience
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, analyzing and debugging customer facing problems
- Ability to work independently and take on ownership
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Fluency in English
