Apple is looking to hire an outstanding Data Analyst with strong technical analytical skills to lead the effort for scalable data enrichment in music metadata. This includes analyzing input data sources, measuring data quality impact, identifying data anomalies, running validation exercises and experimenting with data science to drive improvements. This person will collaborate very closely and cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Analytics and other teams to ensure success.

Key Qualifications

5+ years experience as a data analyst or data scientist
Technical proficiency with SQL and relational databases
Experience with querying in Hadoop, e.g. Spark
Experience with a programming language, e.g. Python
Experience with Excel to slice and dice data
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with others
Demonstrated ability working with multiple teams to complete critical achievements under pressure with tight deadlines
Strong understanding of large-scale content management systems and data modeling strongly preferred
Experience with data science and machine learning preferred
History of working with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, preferred

Description
- Analyze, inspect and create reports against various data sources in Hadoop, SQL, csv
- Identify patterns from data anomalies to help improve data quality
- Define metrics and evaluations that help measure data health
- Handle, track and measure quality from manual data validation exercises
- Identity opportunities for automation of processes
- Experiment with machine learning to improve data quality
- Collaborate cross-functionally across many teams
- Help improve how features are built and executed across teams
- Create clear and concise documentation

Education & Experience

BS degree, preferably with a technical background
