Data Security Manager

As Data Security Manager, you will join a highly skilled and focused team providing excellent data protection services in a large multi-national environment. We protect sensitive ADP client and company data throughout the data life cycle and across the world. Responsibilities include protecting company and client data from misuse or theft, leading improvement of data security and privacy outcomes, and mitigating the risks associated with processing large volumes of sensitive data.

The Data Security Manager will have a deep understanding of data environments and data use cases including data threat vectors, data controls and relevant approaches to mitigating risks. You will interact with numerous teams across ADP: Product, IT Architecture, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Legal, and Data Privacy to evangelize the vision and mature the data security program in our global hybrid cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with strategic product, information technology, and information security teams to create and evangelize the future vision for next generation data security.
  • Develop, implement and operationalize risk-based data security services. This includes defining goals, metrics, and processes and driving to successful operations.
  • Lead a small team of data security practitioners; mentor and provide guidance and expertise to other team members.
  • Continually improve program outcomes, address gaps, review exceptions, and reduce risk to ADP's infrastructure, processes, and sensitive data.
  • Enable the orchestration and automation of security platforms and processes to provide visibility to incidents, enable rapid incident response and gain efficiencies throughout the technical security services lifecycle.
  • Stay current with emerging data security approaches and how to apply this understanding to threats and relevant mitigating controls across multiple environments.
  • Provide consulting services to the business units and IT organizations to educate and foster adherence with ADP's data security standards and industry best practices.
  • Lead efforts to gather and define requirements to mature prevention and detection capabilities of ADP's data security controls.
  • Organize and coordinate Project Managers supporting multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Integrate our data services with risk processes in order to prioritize remediation activities for data controls and meet audit, compliance and ADP data protection requirements, policies and standards.
  • Ensure data security services adapt to continually changing business, privacy, legal, and compliance requirements.
  • Work with Audit, Risk and Governance teams to assess and evaluate data security control effectiveness, and drive towards improved control effectiveness, consistency and maturity across the organization.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in cybersecurity roles including planning, implementing and leading data security services.
  • Strong analytical skills and cross-functional knowledge of multiple cybersecurity disciplines and NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF).
  • Creative thinker that leverages unconventional and innovative ideas to solve difficult problems.
  • Knowledge and working experience defining and documenting business processes and defining appropriate controls.
  • Prior experience leading a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, be trustworthy, and can work independently.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information / Cyber Security, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent education and experience.

Desired Experience:

  • Working experience in international data processing environments, and understanding of GDPR, is strongly desired.
  • Functional experience working in global hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, O365 and GCP.
  • Functional experience with Zero Trust approaches is a plus.
  • Knowledge and working experience with data loss prevention (DLP) and other data management platforms in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Functional experience with databases, business intelligence (BI) reporting and SQL query language.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Digital Rights Management (DRM), data tagging, and encryption technologies or solutions a plus.
  • Information Security certifications desired: CISSP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, CRISC.
