Datacenter Accelerator Validation Development Engineer

DPEA, the Data Products Architecture and Engineering organization, is seeking a datacenter accelerator validation development engineer to join the Xeon SP Platform Integration and Validation team to validate, debug and develop automated test scripts for integrated Xeon SP accelerators. The integrated accelerators that are currently part of the Xeon SP platforms include: Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT), Intel Dynamic Load Balancer (Intel DLB), Intel Data-Streaming Accelerator, and Intel In-Memory Analytics Accelerator (Intel IAA). These accelerators provide high performance computing services for accelerated compression, decompression, encryption, queuing and arbitration, cryptography, and data copy and transformation.
Server System Validation Development Engineers will:
Continuously learn new datacenter server technologies and debug techniques.
Understand component capabilities and functional requirements, and develop integrated platform validation plans and test cases to exercise the components.
Integrate and debug software across the stack for a specific product, platform, feature, or technology throughout the product lifecycle, including pre-silicon development, power on, and/or post-silicon development.
Debug software across multiple layers of the software stack including firmware, drivers, and operating systems.
Partner with Intel's internal product teams (Silicon, Microcode, Firmware, Software, Board, System, Manufacturing, Validation) and our customer teams during critical escalations to root-cause system-level failures and/or anomalies directly impacting our customers or jeopardizing our committed timelines.
Perform low-level and complex debug across multiple IP and system domains within a product and will use their experience with/understanding of SOC design and architecture, Firmware, Bios, and software to completely understand any issue and drive a resolution.
Develop software for automated regression testing or for automated debug data collection and analysis
Use clear project management, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively define validation plans and dependencies, and drive debug and validation activities in various forums.

Qualifications
You
must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for
this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the
minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in
identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be
obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research
and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is
an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Minimum
requirements:
The candidate
must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or
related field.
Minimum of 3-6+
months of experience
in:
Operating Systems (OS) script development experience, in either Python or shell script.
Integrating, validating and/or debugging various system components (example: BIOS, OS, Drivers, Firmware, CPU, Chipset, Board, Storage, Memory and/or Peripherals).
Preferred qualifications:
Object-Oriented programming languages such as C/C++, Java, etc.
Solid knowledge of PC architecture and the ability to integrate various system components (Hardware, BIOS, OS, Drivers, etc.) and validate/debug to the requirements for server platforms.
Experience in interpreting technical specifications to assist with debug and test development.
