Intel's team is seeking a hands on datacenter storage architect. Knowledge and experience file, object and block storage systems that server data over ethernet. Knowledge of NFS, RDMA, NVMe over fabrics, SSD operate, high performance storage including the use of burst buffers, and multi-tier storage. The candidate should also understand collocated storage, multi-site disaster recovery along with RPO and RTO. Knowledge of datacenter storage efficiency including the use of erasure coding, encryption and data deduplication and TCO analysis is also required. Candidate should be willing to define, develop, execute and analyze tests to prove out architectural concepts.
The candidate will work in a multi disciplined team to define high performance storage at scale aim at production AI and ML workloads. The candidate will also define and execute architecture concepts, propose metrics and tests to validate concepts, and deploy at scale designs, feeding back data into the next architecture. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a broad, system-level understanding of data center systems beyond storage including networking, Linux kernel, I/O technology, use of accelerators in the data center.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Storage system architecture, deploying distributed storage systems and datacenter architecture
- Xeon platforms
- Use and or design of Storage systems & Storage devices (SSD)
- TCO analysis in datacenters
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Linux architecture (Kernel, user space, and virtualization) as it pertains to storage connectivity
- Communications protocols like Ethernet, IP, RDMA (RoCE), NVMe over Fabrics
