Come join Intel Validation Engineering (iVE) as a DDRIO Electrical Validation Engineer! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and documents electrical validation requirements and tests for verification of Si designs.
  • Investigates and resolves complex issues with hardware/BIOS/Firmware/Operating System implementations and recommends solutions.
  • Uses analysis to resolve electronic issues.


As an Analog validation engineer, you will be working as a member of the Austin location's Xeon Analog Validation Engineering (AVE) team that is responsible for the analog/electrical validation of Intel's next generation leading edge Server CPUs. The scope of electrical validation includes validating of the CPU Input/Output (I/O) analog circuits and signals, covering memory DIMM memory as part of the data center system.

We are looking for a candidate whose behavioral traits indicate:

  • Willingness to define test plans, execute lab experiments, and deliver quality goals on multiple validation programs
  • Demonstrates a strong ownership role and owns a technically challenging interface
  • Willingness to use methodological approaches to solve highly complex problems
  • Willingness to generate and deliver written and verbal reports on highly technical engineering content
  • Willingness to make necessary autonomous decisions given vague and conflicting constraints
  • Willingness to process data to identify health risks and provide mitigation solutions
  • Good Interpersonal and leadership skills including working as a member of the EV team


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience -OR- a Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 1+ year of experience in:

  • Analog circuit design or validation and/or signal integrity design of validation

  • Hardware lab with test equipment (oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, logic analyzer, etc), computer systems and test stations

  • Computer system hardware setup and operation

  • Test/validation software development including experience with C, C++, or C#

  • Scripting Python, Perl or Visual Basic

  • Mathematical and statistical data analysis, including experience with JMP and/or Matlab

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
