Opportunity to join the Programmable Solution Group (PSG) HW/SW methodology team to develop and deploy innovative solutions for Intel FPGA silicon and multi-chip packaged devices. The position requires an experienced CAD development Engineer to define and develop implementation tools and methodologies for modeling, managing, and driving HW designs. The Design Methodology and Automation (DMA) team develops solutions interfacing to industry standard EDA and in-house tools to automate and extend design capabilities on cutting edge process nodes. The solutions also bridge the FPGA silicon designs to PSG EDA software platform end-customers use to develop their designs. As a member of the DMA team, the candidate should have a working background in contemporary ASIC design, FPGA usage, EDA tools, and software development.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum years of relevant experience: 10
  • Experience may be divided over design, CAD, and EDA roles.
  • Required level of education: BS degree in EE, CE, or CS
  • Strong background in contemporary ASIC design flows.
  • Strong skillset developing/deploying SW applications on UNIX base platforms
  • Practical skills in Tcl as an EDA tool user.
  • Working knowledge of building Tcl applications with packages and namespaces
  • Previous Tool/flow expert user within a design team (able to help/guide other team members).

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in floorplanning/physical synthesis/Verilog RTL coding and functional simulation
  • Working knowledge of physical implementation and timing closure.
  • Working knowledge of building Tcl applications with packages and name spaces
