Job Description
Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Technology Program Lead (DTPL) Intern in support of a variety of innovative program efforts. Assist and support DTPLs with ensuring proper execution of DT scope in accordance with performance standards; leveraging thought leadership, innovative solutions, and cost savings initiatives. The DTPL owns the roadmap and execution of the DT strategic vision by focusing on the operations of related programs to drive down costs and streamline the shared environments and processes. This position works closely across multi-functional teams and will be required to effectively communicate with and influence our business partners and program management.

Gain exposure and rounded experience in a fast-paced digital environment through the DT partnership with engineering and proposal/program management to capture functional requirements, translate requirements into program environment planning and execution plans, and manage changes in scope and function of the development and collaborative environments over the lifecycle of the program.


Make an impact by supporting the oversight and monitoring of cost, schedules, and performance of DT tasks, which will include task planning and scheduling, earned value reporting and variance analysis. Gain introductory experience in Proposals/Programs, Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Control Account Manager (CAM) methodologies.

Additional responsibilities for experience include but are not limited to:
  • Technology Risk Analysis Experience: Supports the identification, assessment, monitor, and mitigation of DT related risks and dependencies throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Government Regulatory & Compliance Experience: Partners with Information Assurance (IA) and Security to track the status of infrastructure compliance as it relates to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Compliance (CMMC), and DAAPM Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Business Communications Experience: Support the preparation and presentation of operations reviews, programs status review and roadmap planning that includes key performance metrics, financial performance (Earned Value), risks, highlights, forecasted sub mission area growth, opportunities for digital insertion and key strategic
Required Skills:
  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Masters degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or other related discipline
  • Education or Experience noted with Microsoft Office such as Word or Excel
  • U.S. Citizenship is required as a DoD security clearance will be necessary
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
  • Prior experience with system administration or code development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity in a diverse environment
  • Experience working in a team to quickly address technical challenges
  • Relevant experience or internship
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft operating systems and x86/64 based hardware
  • Fundamental knowledge of computing Infrastructures
  • Technical curiosity, methodical problem solving and desire to learn new skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others collaboratively and constructively
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

This position can be a Salary Grade ST02, ST03, ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:


  • ST02 (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must have completed 30 hours of college
  • ST03 (Junior Technical Intern) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • ST04 (Senior Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • ST05 (Post Grad Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college




    This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
