The Parallel Computing Lab is looking for a senior technologist to lead our Machine Programming Research (MPR) Group. The goal is to deliver research-quality systems that fundamentally transform the software development process, so programmers with no formal training in computer engineering can generate software that takes full advantage of the low-level features of Intel hardware. In short, we want to deliver high performance, portable code with a software development workflow that supports high programmer productivity.

In this job, you would lead a small (and growing) team of research scientists to imagine and then create machine programming solutions as envisioned in our position paper "The Three Pillars of Machine Programming". This will require someone who is a first-rate software engineer and has a deep technical knowledge of AI with the passion to make machine programming a reality in years not decades.

Qualifications

We need a leader with deep technical knowledge at the intersection of AI, programming systems, and parallel computing.

• Ph.D. in a field consistent with the technical requirements of this job.
• 10 years of research experience which includes five or more years leading research teams.
• A record of impactful publications and/or patents.
• A deep understanding of AI so you can creatively imagine new and unique ways to apply AI to programming problems.
• Advanced programming skills in C++ and one or more high-level languages such as Python.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working in corporate research with a record of turning corporate research into corporate products.
• Experience working with academic research groups and bringing academic research into industry.
• Comfort with the full range of modern software engineering methodologies.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$238,700.00-$381,660.00
