ADP is hiring a Director, North America Revenue Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE).

The Director will lead a team that performs the following functions: end-to-end accounting and financial reporting process for the North America CoE functional areas (e.g. Revenue, A/R, product cost), preparation of financial statement schedules and analysis to support internal and external reporting, maintenance and accuracy of all general ledger accounts, management of complex accounting projects and delivery of BPI process improvements and corresponding savings.   

The Director will lead a team that includes ADP associates both onshore in North America and in Manila as well as a team with our outsourcing partner (IBM) located in Naga City, Philippines.  Total team is approximately 30 people.

The Accounting CoE is a team of people that promote collaboration and strive to best practices around specific focus areas in order to provide financial and business results in an efficient and effective manner.   The CoE will fulfill the following needs:

  • Support: For their areas of responsibility, the CoE should support their business partners, through services delivered and acting as subject matter experts.
  • Guidance: As subject matter experts in the areas of responsibility and the systems that enable them, the CoE provides guidance on how to best deliver results based on current and evolving accounting standards.
  • Shared Learning: Establish and implement best practices through shared learning which then enables effective performance.
  • Measurement: The CoE reports on the delivery of results and value through the establishment and reporting of SLAs.
  • Governance: The CoE creates and establishes governance in their areas of responsibility in order to support well-controlled, efficient processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the end-to-end monthly accounting and financial reporting processes for revenue accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Includes revenue, A/R, TotalSource worksite employee accounting, cash reconciliations, product cost, etc.
  • Leads in the resolution of all related day-to-day issues and challenges, particularly with respect to general ledger and subledger transactions and reconciliation.
  • Reviews the set-up of programs/products accounting processes and reviews client contracts for accounting treatment.
  • Collaborates with the Accounting Policy team to determine proper accounting treatment on new business transactions
  • Assists in the preparation and review of certain detailed financial statement analyses used for internal and external reporting.
  • Develops a strong working relationship with numerous teams across ADP’s Finance organization by demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Corporate and Tax reporting requirements.
  • Ensures financial transactions are recorded in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accounting guidance related to revenue.
  • Serves as the CoE primary contact and coordinates all activities required to support internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for executing and monitoring ongoing control procedures and documentation related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to the CoE functional areas and for the remediation of control deficiencies, if any.
  • Drives business process improvement within the CoE by identifying and implementing actions that result in more efficient and streamlined processes.
  • Manages a large team of direct and indirect resources (onshore, offshore and outsourced).  Understands and leverages outsourced service provider contract and deliverables.
  • Assists in the integration of newly acquired businesses, if any, into the general accounting function

Qualifications Required:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.

Experience:

  • 7 to 10 Years of accounting/finance experience (may include public accounting), including supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-location (virtual) environment.
