Position Description:
This position can be an Electrical Engineer I or Electrical Engineer II based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Job Description:
Production Test Engineers are typically Electrical Engineers by education and are responsible for designing, controlling and improving the manufacturing process, test equipment and system design, through a collaborative effort with quality engineering, area supervision and manufacturing and test specialists. Position is for first shift; however, the manufacturing environment can operate multiple shifts including some weekend work so candidate must be capable of supporting this schedule. Position may require occasional travel.
Tasks may include the following:
Working with design and systems engineering to support and implement design changes
Assist in the development of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures
Ensure the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate per the technical data packages of the products within area of responsibilities
Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product
Monitor and improve the manufacturing and test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields
Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package, which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software
Lead efforts around reduction of process cycle times and defect reductions
Lead projects that result in improved manufacturing processes and safer and more efficient work areas
Accept new or modified test equipment for production use
Develop test flow charts and test capacity analysis
Assist and direct hourly personnel in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of the product or test equipment
Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings to management
Provide technical training in both product and test equipment to bargaining unit personnel
Required Skills:
Working knowledge of electronics and electrical circuits as well as fault isolation practices
Development of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures
Maintenance of changes to the test equipment technical data package, which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software
Development of test flow charts and test capacity analysis
Capability of interacting with, or leading, a group of multi-disciplined engineers
Proficient using Microsoft Office applications
Experience with hands-on hardware integration, troubleshooting, and manufacturing experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
Knowledge and experience using SAP based production systems or other MRP systems
Root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings to management
Capability of interacting with, or leading, a group of multi-disciplined engineers
Ability to develop solutions to complex technical problems
Required Education (including Major):
BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.172600
