What Your Job Will Be Like:





We are seeking an R&D S&E Electronics Engineer to join the Weapon Subsystems 5 group, which is a multidisciplinary team, in designing and developing advanced electronic subsystems. This group provides innovative solutions to technical challenges that support our mission and commitment to national security.



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Design low-power, mixed-signal embedded electronic subsystems



+ Perform low-power discrete analog design, modeling, and simulation of analog electronic subsystems, including amplifier and filter design



+ Perform design and analysis of switched mode power supplies (SMPS) using SPICE



+ Collaborate with our electronics CAD team to perform printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout



+ Test and troubleshoot PCBs in the lab using power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipment



+ Derive requirements for and select commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electronics components



+ Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team whose task will be to define requirements, create the subsystem design, implement quality design methodology, build and evaluate prototypes, test subsystems, and support system integration testing





Other responsibilities include:





+ Working with representatives from systems organizations, subcomponent organizations, quality assurance, program management, and production



+ Ability to create innovative solutions to difficult technical problems



+ Ability to work in a team-oriented environment



+ Working cooperatively with other internal organizations, as well as external production facilities and suppliers







Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline plus 8 years of experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education



+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance



+ Ability to travel





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills



+ Current DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance



+ Experience working with SPICE simulation of electronic circuits



+ Experience with switched mode power supply (SMPS) design



+ Demonstrated knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout considerations

Security Clearance:
