Job Description

The Electromagnetics Division (EMD) at GTRI is seeking a qualified entry to mid-level researcher to join our research team. Specific tasks could include performing electromagnetic measurements, analyzing measured data, assisting with research proposals, reporting results to sponsors, managing small programs, and maintaining lab space.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist II

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study.
  • Experience with electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic measurements, or related areas.
  • Superior attention to detail, experience with laboratory measurements, and familiarity with a scripting language such as Matlab or Python. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or similarly related field of study and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
