Job Description

The Electromagnetics Division (EMD) of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory at GTRI is seeking a qualified entry-level researcher to join our research team. Successful applicant will perform research in the areas of antenna design, electromagnetic materials characterization, computational electromagnetics, RF/microwave design, digital design, electromagnetic measurements, integrated circuit design, systems engineering, or related areas. Candidates will be expected to be familiar with one or more of these areas through classwork or work experience, and willing to apply this knowledge as a foundation for developing subject matter expertise. Candidates should be willing to work on multiple projects and be willing to learn new skills to meet future project needs.

Specific tasks could include performing electromagnetic measurements, designing broadband antennas, designing RF/digital circuits, writing research proposals, presenting results to sponsors, and managing programs. Current programs with staffing needs include: (1) position, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems, (2) embedded systems programming, and (3) custom antenna designs. The successful applicant will likely support program in one or more of these areas.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have experience in one or more (but not all) of the following fields:

  • Antenna design
  • Electromagnetic materials characterization
  • Computational electromagnetics
  • RF/microwave design
  • Digital design
  • Electromagnetic measurements
  • Integrated circuit design
  • Systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
