We are seeking a Electromechanical Technologist
On any given day, you may be called on to:
+ Develop, build, modify, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic apparatus and equipment, including electronic fabrication, packaging, and assembly of components into complex electronic equipment systems.
+ Operate various laboratory instruments in support of electronics system testing
+ Troubleshoot printed circuit board design
+ Assists in conducting experiments and acquiring data.
+ Develop test software and operate test equipment to validate electronic systems

Required:
+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q security clearance
Desired:
+ Experience working with RF circuit and RF diagnostic tools, High voltage circuit testing, writing safety procedures for high voltage operations, firmware development (microcontroller or FPGA).
+ Experience in write test software in Python or Labview
Department Description:
Department 8428 designs, tests, and deploys advanced electronic systems for various national security applications. The department has a broad mix of skills and technical resources in areas such as digital communications, sensors, radio frequency (RF)/microwave, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) design, power supply technology, general electronics-circuit design, digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and coding, mechanical design and analysis, and systems engineering.

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
