Electronic Warfare Systems Engineer (Experienced) -- ELSYS

Job Description

The Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Engineer (Experienced) in the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) System Engineering Division (SEN) is currently is a full-time research faculty position located in Atlanta, Georgia. The EW systems engineer supports design, development, implementation, and testing of Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic Warfare systems including applications related to signal processing, data communications, system security and mission data.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Develop system architectures and requirements for Electronic Support and Electronic Attack systems
Work with other engineering disciplines to develop trade studies, product concepts and designs
Draft, update, and maintain design documents, interface documents and requirements
Perform system level modeling, simulation and analysis to evaluate system designs against requirements
Serve as a technical expert on assigned projects and systems to include keeping up-to-date on industry standards, system interfaces, engineering tools and road maps for current and future updates
Participate in technical meetings with GTRI and sponsor personnel
Lead small to mid-sized projects and/or research teams
Develop technical papers for conferences, speak publicly and present briefings to sponsors and potential sponsors
Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist

  • A Masters degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in design, performance assessment, or operation of EW and/or Radar systems
  • Minimum of 7+ years of applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Electronic Support (ES)/Electronic Attack (EA) domains including ground and airborne radar and missile systems, stand-off/escort/self-protect radar countermeasures, and/or communications EW
  • Familiarity with ES/EA system architectures and system hardware design
  • Knowledge of RF principles, as well as system and subsystem-level analysis
  • Familiarity with advanced antenna technology and antenna performance
  • Active SECRET clearance

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
