Spacecraft engineering manager for the GOES program. Responsible to manage engineering resources for all GOES subsystems (Structures, Thermal, Mechanisms, Propulsion, Antennas, Avionics, Power, Harness, GN&C, Communication electronics). Overall responsibility for the engineering design, build, test, delivery, and operations of the GOES products suite. Oversees and manages the hardware suite in partnership with other GOES program elements and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to meet all program requirements within the programs cost and schedule commitments. The GOES spacecraft organization also supports the assembly, test, launch operations, deployment, and on-orbit operations of the GOES spacecraft series. Manager’s tasks include cost account management, supervision of the Products teams, identification and management of potential risks, proposal response and negotiation with suppliers as well as customers, interactions with the COEs, production centers, subcontracting centers, and the E&T organization. The manager is responsible to effectively conduct presentations to NASA/NOAA, LM leadership and executive management at major and minor reviews and program forums to effectively communicate all necessary facets organization. Supervisory duties also include conducting performance appraisals, talent management, time card and expense report approval

Basic Qualifications
1) Minimum of a bachelors in engineering or science
2) Experience leading teams responsible for space hardware components subsystems, or systems
3) Detailed knowledge of engineering and program planning through the development, design, build, test, and integration phases
4) Demonstrated experience with cost account management and earned value management principles, techniques, and processes
5) Relevant experience in preparing for and conducting program level reviews such as CDR, TRR, PSR, or MRR

Desired skills
1) Experience in leading teams through cultural and geographical boundaries as well as operation across multiple production centers within LMSSC.
2) Strong team building, relationship building, and personal acumen skills to facilitate an effective and diverse team
3) Experience with procurement and management of supplier developed hardware to include collaboration with program subcontract management team
4) Recent record of bringing multi-disciplinary teams under his/her leadership to solve complex development, design or failure resolution/remediation processes leading to mission success
5) Experience in the production of in-house fabricated products to include collaboration with production, planning, and quality assurance organizations
6) Familiarity with NASA in the execution of development programs
7) Presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer and management
