What Your Job Will Be Like:



Organizations 5344 and 5349 are seeking motivated and innovative electrical engineers to design and deliver advanced RF systems to support a broad range of ND, interagency, radar ISR, and related programs/initiatives. As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to realize complex systems and deliver differentiating new capabilities to meet emerging national security challenges, all the while advancing the state of the art. Having a desire to learn and develop your own skills will be crucial and beneficial as you join our team to accomplish missions vital to our nation.



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Analyze, design, and develop Analog/RF/Digital circuits, subsystems, and modules using high speed communication



+ Perform initial circuit Functional verification and testing



+ Team with Analog and Digital PCB designers to design/code firmware for PLD and FPGA system integration, Debug hardware and firmware problems using information from the engineering and production teams



+ Develop test scenarios that allow the production team to take over successful delivery once the design has been finished



+ Perform test system integration and automation



+ Debug systems from initial design through final customer support to ensure long term functionality





Candidates are expected to have experience and understanding in the application of principles, theories, concepts, and practices related to RF/analog/digital circuit design, to perform modeling and simulation in support of design and analysis activities, and to participate in experimental testing and system level integration of completed designs. Candidates must have the ability to work successfully in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, teaming environment.

Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline with 5 years of directly related experience,



+ OR Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline



+ Understanding of electrical schematics



+ Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.





Qualifications We Desire:



Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:





+ Masters degree in Electrical Engineering preferred



+ RF Background



+ Experience with one or more of the following



+ Circuit design and schematic capture



+ Circuit troubleshooting



+ PCB fabrication and assembly, quality assurance, and test



+ Embedded system software and/or firmware development



+ Open VPX and its standards



+ PCIe and Ethernet protocols



+ Experience with Linux, VxWorks, Windows, Matlab, LabView/TestStand







+ Attitude and drive to learn new skills directly applicable to the job requirements



+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, building consensus and resolving issues



+ Demonstrated ability to innovate in an R&D environment



+ Willingness to work in a team-based development effort including tight integration with a hardware production team



+ Good interpersonal, oral, and written skills



+ Active DOE Q-level clearance

Radar ISR Analysis & Applications Department (05344) operates within the “Radar Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (Radar ISR)” business area to develop and field high-performance synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems, and to support various Nuclear Weapon (NW), National Security programs (NSP), homeland security, and interagency programs and R&D initiatives. The department specializes in electromagnetic design, simulation, analysis, and testing activities, including antenna/radar design and development, radar-cross-section analysis, and RF systems engineering.
