Electronics Technologist (Early Career)

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop, build, modify, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic apparatus and equipment, including electronic fabrication, packaging, and assembly of components into complex electronic equipment systems;
+ Fabricate, package, and test semiconductors, printed circuit board design and test, circuit or micromodules;
+ Assist in conducting experiments and acquiring data;
+ Analyze data and recommends modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications\.

Required:

+ Associates degree in Electronics;
+ Skill in electronics or related technologies, such as mechanics or optics;
+ Knowledge and experience with electrical design, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance;
+ Ability to conceptualize and communicate major elements of electrical design, engineering, or maintenance;
+ Ability to prepare and present electrical systems and equipment testing and reporting;
+ Knowledge of the use, distribution, and potential variances and hazards of electrical currents;
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, layouts, and other related specifications;
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L\-level security clearance\.

Desired:

Sandia National Laboratories is a world leader in the development of renewable energy systems\. Our Concentrated Solar Technologies Department located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, develops Concentrating Solar Power \(CSP\) systems in partnership with DOE, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory \(NREL\), and industry to facilitate the successful development and market deployment of utility scale solar electric and sustainable solar fuels\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) L\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre\-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\. If you hold more than one citizenship \(i\.e\., of the U\.S\. and another country\), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted\.

This Limited Term Employee \(LTE\) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years\.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance\.
