Electronics Technologist (Experienced)

:



We are seeking a Electronics Technologist to join the W88Alt370/B61\-12 Assembly/Disassembly Teams\. The Assembly Teams assemble & disassembles all test units and sub\-assemblies in preparation for environmental, electrical, thermal, flight qualification tests and experiments\.



On any given day, you may be called on to:



+ Plan work activities

+ Develop and assist design engineers with the development of assembly procedures, and perform the actual hands\-on assembly of all test/production units and assemblies\.

+ Perform activity level work and utilize keen attention to detail, high standards of quality, and strict adherence to security & safety requirements



Required:



+ Associates degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Technology \(or other relevant discipline\); or four years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

+ Five or more years of demonstrated skill and/or experience directly related to system\-level hardware management or assembly operations

+ Active US DOE Q\-level security clearance



Desired:



+ Undergraduate degree in a related field

+ Experience working in the nuclear weapon systems arena as a hardware or assembly technologist

+ Knowledge, skill, and experience related to the safe handling, inspection, and assembly/disassembly of explosive and other hazardous components

+ Current qualifications and experience using forklifts, cranes, and laser marking systems

+ Strong mechanical skills and demonstrated experience

+ Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting weapon system hardware and logistics\.

+ Demonstrated success in positions that require keen attention to detail\.

+ Experience as a work planner of activity \(performance\) level work\.

+ Knowledge and application of SNL Work Planning & Control procedures and Engineered Safety\.

+ Motivated to learn and be part of a fast\-paced mission focused team\.

+ Demonstrated success working independently and as well as part of a team\.

+ Demonstrated ability to understand and apply technical publications and procedures\.

+ Experience working with classified information and/or material\.

+ Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing\.

+ Ability to model Sandia' core values and business practices\.

Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance to start\.



Position requires an active Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance or active clearance with another US government agency, e\.g\., DOD, to be considered for this position\.
