What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you passionate about your work and interested in using innovative facilities to explore solutions? We are seeking an Electronics Test Technologist to join our dynamic team and support the realization and implementations of Integrated Surety Architecture (ISA)!

On any given day you may be called on to:

+ Complete system and sub-system electrical/functional tests

+ Assemble/dissemble test setups

+ Handle classified hardware

+ Conduct electrical benchtop troubleshooting

+ Operate automated test equipment and support tester development and maintenance

+ Inspect and clean optical fibers

+ Maintain a safe and secure laboratory while conducting electrical testing operations

+ Cross-train and network on multiple nuclear weapon systems and transportation elements

+ Ensure test activities follow corporate safety and environmental standards (e.g. PHS and NEPA approvals)

+ Assist with hardware and cable fabrication, procurement, and assembly

+ Assist in data analysis

+ Travel required 10% of the time to support functional electrical testing and program needs

Due to the hands-on and potentially classified nature of this position, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite the majority of the work week.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Associate degree in science or engineering field; OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

+ Experience in assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting of electromechanical assemblies at the system and/or component levels

+ Experience with electrical circuits and diagrams

+ Experience with sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

+ Experience with meeting and implementing safety and security standards in a laboratory environment

+ Experience with programming and/or interpreting code in Python

+ Experience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardware

+ Experience working in laboratory and field environments

+ Experience in the transportation security area

+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment

+ Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance

Security Clearance:

About Our Team:

We are the integrating element between the Nuclear Deterrent and the Office of Secure Transport regarding Integrated Surety Architecture for over-the-road applications. We collaborate with the SafeGuards Transporter (SGT) and the Mobile Guardian Transporter (MGT) as well as all Nuclear Deterrent (ND) assets to include the currently active ALT 940 (W88), the ALT 939 (W76), the Multi-application Transportation Attachment Device (MTAD) and all future ND system needs.

The Special Projects organization interacts extensively with the NNSA Office of Stockpile Management, the NNSA Office of Secure Transport, the Department of Defense, and the various SNL Systems organizations responsible for the development, surveillance, and management of the US ND. These interactions include planning, forecasting, testing, reporting, directing, designing, and documenting. The 6615 team is agile, adaptable, and professional with a cadre of expert individuals from many various backgrounds all focused on realizing this mission.
