EMC Space Environments Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate unit and spacecraft electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- Review of EMC testing data and anomalies
- Cavity analysis
- Launch vehicle and Launch base compatibly analysis
- Co-orbit spacecraft compatibility assessment
- Cable EMC considerations
- Faraday cage maintenance
- Determine compliance with standards such as, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1541, MIL-STD-1512, MIL-HDBK-419A, NASA TP2361, NASA CR4759, NASA-HDBK-4002a, and NASA-HDBK-4001, etc.
- Evaluate spacecraft charging
- Evaluate unit and spacecraft electrostatic discharge (ESD)
- Evaluate Solar Array charging
- Determine most efficient, yet sufficiently thorough method of solving problems
- Generate and evaluate compliance to environmental requirements
- Participate in research, design, development, analysis and evaluation of components, systems and packages for spacecraft flight operation and testing
- Process analytical models to obtain responses to launch, in-orbit operation, test, and ground handling environments, including definition of test requirements, design of test configuration, administration of tests, and writing test reports
- Works on Space Environments and other related problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, impact to schedule, and process improvement
- Ensure all inputs are understood and clearly communicate requirements and analysis outputs

· Familiarity with industry best practices
· Understanding of charging in GEO, LEO, and interplanetary environments
· Good verbal and written communication, organization, project/time management, and leadership skills are essential, as well as attention to detail

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, EMC, physics or related engineering or science discipline. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience
- Experience with EMI/EMC
- Proficiency in the use of computer aided design tools (such as Creo)
