Employment & Staffing Specialist (Early Career)

Are you an enthusiastic and positive individual who is passionate about Human Resources and delivering world-class customer service? We are seeking an Employment, Staffing, and Recruiting Specialist to lead talent initiatives with an assigned technical customer organization.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Conduct regular meetings with partners, deliver and advise on strategic objectives.
+ Develop and deliver creative solutions to the customers talent challenges.
+ Focus on continuous improvement by using analytics to tackle problems, produce solutions, and propose new creative ideas.
+ Ensure that hiring policies, processes, and practices follow applicable affirmative action and equal opportunity laws, guidelines, and policies.
+ Partner with line organizations to help define talent needs and workforce plans and work with management to develop workforce and recruiting strategies and to effectively acquire or align talent.
+ Create and implement programs as appropriate.
+ Develop job requisitions and screen applications to identify top talent.
+ Partner with the line organization and peers to execute hiring actions.


+ Bachelor's in Business, Human Resources, or other relevant discipline plus one (1) year of relevant HR experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience working in a Human Resource discipline.
+ Experience sourcing, recruiting, or hiring technical or scientific personnel.


+ Masters degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
+ Experience using metrics and data packages to develop talent strategies and staffing plans to address talent challenges
+ Experience with high volume hiring
+ Experience working with DOE or DoD facilities/contracts
+ PeopleSoft Applicant Tracking System (ATS) experience
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal and team building skills
+ Experience in Sandia's Recruiting, Staffing, or Talent Acquisition organization
+ Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communciation
+ SHRM/HRCI certification

Department Description:

The Staffing and Staff Aug Support Team, provides support in the pre-employment activities of external hires, internal post and bid movement of employees, and the acquisition of staff augmentation contract associates. This team interfaces with hiring managers, candidates, and personnel in other Lab functions who also have a role in acquiring members of the workforce.

Security Clearance:

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
