What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a dedicated Engineering and Systems Integration and Implementation professional. Join us to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Plan, analyze, integrate, implement, and test physical and electronic security systems for Sandia’s missions

+ Use knowledge of systems and technologies to develop functional and operational requirements, processes, systems, technologies and review these items for a variety of partners.

+ Implement requirements through design definition activities such as design reports, engineering drawings, and/or specifications.

+ Work with external and internal senior level (General Officer/ Senior Executive Service) individuals regarding requirements, vulnerability assessments, future and existing threats, policies, processes, and technology solutions.

+ Develop and implement system and component level tests and plans in a laboratory, test field, or implementation site and ensure integration and implementation of these systems.

This position will require up to 50%.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Public Policy, Political Science, Business Management or equivalent (AS+4 years' or no degree plus 8 years' relevant experience)

+ Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Ability to conceptualize and communicate major elements of design, engineering, maintenance, processes, or policies

+ Ability to excel in a fast-paced dynamic environment

+ Experience with:

+ Security system design, installation, and/or testing.

+ Customers such as DoD, DoE, or NNSA.

+ Security system components such as sensors, cameras, network, or communications infrastructure.

+ Ability to emphasize small details and orders of operations by breaking down systems into manageable and discrete parts for better understanding and troubleshooting

+ Demonstrated experience managing teams or complex efforts

+ Desire to travel to a variety of locations for work up to 75% of the time.

+ Possess a strong dedication to positive teaming dynamic, strong written and verbal skills, detail oriented with a keen focus on customer service

+ Experience with development and implementation of high-level national security policies.

+ Strong understanding of DOE 473.1, DOE 473.3, NUREG 1959, DoD 5210.41M, threats, IPAS, vulnerability assessments and/or general security policies

+ Project/program experience outside of the United States or with international organizations such as NATO, IAEA, UN, or other.

+ Awareness of engineering principles and basic technical responsibilities, including design and systems technology, within a designated subject area

+ Skill in related technologies, such as mechanics, electronics, security, or computers

Department 6517's primary mission is to provide enhanced surety systems and security systems to ND, NNSA, and DOD. These responsibilities include the development of testing, integration, and certification of components and systems necessary to advance DoD surety world-wide and supporting design, technology development, and installation of enhanced security components and systems for the USAF and NNSA.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
