Tucson, AZ 85701
Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) and the Systems and Integration Test Directorate are seeking expert professional technical leaders passionate about implementing and executing advanced technologies across entire lifecycle of missile systems that can ensure the highest quality of products to the warfighter as well as defense customers.

RMD is seeking experts in the field of Missile Technology, Systems and Systems Integration with direct application of advanced technologies to perform the role of RMD Integrator for requirement verification of functional and performance capabilities. The Missile Systems Integrator role encompasses cross discipline engineering understanding and direct knowledge of multi-mode (Electro-Optical, Infrared and Radio Frequency) systems along with software and configurable logic capabilities. This professional will be able to lead senior engineers in a dynamic environment to provide innovative solutions and rapid results through continuous solution space analysis and supporting business acumen and oversight. The candidate should have proven experience in performing critical aerospace system research, conducting trade studies, developing risk reduction test execution vision, creating the mission execution detail planning. This engineering fellow will act as a focal point for tactical Missile / Systems Hardware (HW) / Software (SW) integration efforts having complimentary knowledge in electrical, logical and physical interfaces to ensure functionality of power, timing, and communications across systems, missiles and mission elements of the horizontal kill chain.

This individual will interface with customers and the Raytheon Missiles & Defense engineering, industry and government range facilities to expedite the test execution, innovative risk reduction experimentation in a captive carry, tower testing or specialized test environments laboratory using cutting edge simulation and controls of tactical open/closed loop new test configurations.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DoD Security Clearance upon start date.

The Systems Integrator should have core competencies in the following areas of expertise:

Technical Knowledge:

  • Ability to perform the execution test plan with a high degree of ingenuity and innovative solutions with the utilization of test environment systems to verify interface functional capabilities through test conditions, scenarios and boundaries in lab induced setting as well as selective scenarios that stress states and modes through data gathering events and ground based test events.
  • Familiarity and expertise in the development of Computer-in-the-Loop (CIL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments for the simulation and control of tactical scenarios that demonstrate real-time open loop interfacing and real-time closed loop testing with prime tactical hardware during pre-launch, launch modes and states for the purpose of simulating motor ignition, safe separation, data link communications, initial guidance, mid-course guidance demonstrating target detection, acquisition of target engagements and maneuvers across multiple platforms with end-game maneuvers.
  • In depth understanding of telemetry and real time displays for both missile and target behaviors, real-time software implementation and electrical/mechanical systems designs. This expertise should translate to requirement verification or complex data analysis that demonstrates system performance guidance and navigation expertise and associated knowledge for evaluation of data with ability to make adjustments of key run attributes as required.

Drive Customer Affordability:
  • Ability to steer requirement verification solutions and critical analyses to ensure financial oversight of domain efforts driving program execution excellence and meeting customer commitments.
  • Seek opportunities to drive complex time critical troubleshooting investigative test events and/or provide improvements in product affordability, reliability, and availability through increased test capabilities that improve all test scenarios across multiple test environments.

  • Experienced in performing Subsystem and System Level Integration, Test, Verification, and Validation of the electrical, logical and physical interfaces
  • Experience developing testable subsystems and systems to ensure adequate production test coverage, along with designing and implementing assembly and test processes and procedures
  • Experience defining Instrumentation Data Requirements, through RS422, RS232, telemetry data and the development and utilization of SW data reduction tools Experienced in acquiring and analyzing test results to validate test objectives and isolate anomalies through these tools

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of the DoD integrated acquisition lifecycle as relates to the technical reviews, SRR,PDR, CDR, TRR and its associated Milestones and Gates
  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) Experience evaluating system performance through test data analysis and validating simulations with field test data
  • Experience developing testable subsystems and systems to ensure adequate production test coverage, along with designing and implementing assembly and test processes and procedures
Required Education: B.S. in an engineering field (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems), science or related technical field. (Advance degree preferred.)
