What Your Job Will Be Like:





We are seeking a highly motivated person who is passionate about leading ES&H operations and management system programs/projects to join our dynamic ES&H Operations and Systems team as the Environmental Management System (EMS) Program Lead. The position requires the development, maintenance, and continued growth of high-quality processes for the EMS that ensures integration with the ES&H management system attributes and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2015 Standard. The scope of EMS encompasses all activities, products, and services that have the potential to interact with the environment at all of SNL’s locations, thus the position provides the opportunity to collaborate labs wide with users and partners for successful process implementation and change management. Collaboration efforts provides an integrated approach for management and members of the workforce to identify and manage environmental risks in a wide variety of Sandia research and development technology efforts and projects that will enhance labs wide ES&H culture.



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Collaborate with partners and stakeholders’ labs wide to ensure effective implementation and integration of ES&H processes and applications with research and development efforts and projects.



+ Use common office software and proprietary software to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, and graphs to support leadership in making data-driven decisions.



+ Review and analyze data and information and reconcile report discrepancies.



+ Develop, implement, maintain, and manage effective processes and training material to support the EMS for the labs.



+ Participate in structured improvement activities and lessons learned forums and outcomes to support implementation of the EMS.



+ Develop and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences to include facilitating the EMS Management Advisory Board.



+ Use structured systems approach that improves processes and adapts lean tools to ensure integration.



+ Lead cross-functional teams to facilitate solution implementation and improvements aligned to mission and strategic objectives.



+ Document and track project risks and collaborate with partners to develop mitigation and contingency plans.



+ Review status of projects/initiatives and budgets to ensure deliverables are resourced appropriately to meet scheduled timelines.



+ Assist in implementing and administering Sandia National Laboratories' policies and programs and provide guidance, interpretation, and assistance on a wide variety of procedures.



+ Be responsible for the oversight of the EMS Team and program activities including mentorship of other staff members.



+ Ensures the EMS program is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 Standard.



+ Propose environmental objectives aimed at reducing environmental risks and impacts while promoting environmental awareness and best practices.



+ Submit required EMS reports and serve as the primary contact with DOE/SFO and DOE Headquarters.







Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus five (5) or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.



+ Knowledge of and experience in ES&H requirements, regulations, and management systems.



+ The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Master’s degree in a relevant field.



+ Knowledge of and experience in process analysis and development; corporate-level management system programs; project planning and management; and quality assurance principles.



+ Experience interpreting, applying, integrating, and flowing down requirements into plans, procedures, or systems.



+ Active L or Q Security Clearance; or other Active DOE/DOD clearance.



+ Experience in developing and integrating multiple processes to minimize duplication of effort to meet requirements.



+ Demonstrated success organizing, prioritizing, and following through to complete multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions, and changing priorities.



+ Project management experience or professional certification.



+ Strong organizational, team building, facilitation, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with multiple levels of management, members of the workforce and external contacts.



+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.



+ Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.



+ Work independently and within a teaming environment.

Security Clearance:
