The People Analytics & Engineering team is seeking a self-starting Engineering Project Manager with excellent interpersonal skills, who is adept at managing technical data projects involving many partners within a complex organization. This role is high impact for Apple and requires frequent interactions with large group of customers and executive leaders driving the employee experience through People related analytics from recruiting, compensation to Inclusion and Diversity.

This position can be based on site in Austin TX, Cupertino CA, or Seattle WA.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building a roadmap and managing complex programs with people, process, technology components
  • Demonstrated ability in hands-on project management
  • Thorough understanding of Development Lifecycle fundamentals and components for rapid application build non analytics, analytics dashboards and data science projects
  • Technical proficiency and past programming experience in data analysis to find patterns and integrity and process gaps
  • Excellent organization skills, acute attention to detail, ability to balance multiple tasks in a constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to be flexible with a positive demeanor and learn quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Concise written and verbal communication skills with proven experience in influencing executives to drive decisions
  • Experience with Project Management tools such as JIRA, Quip & Wrike, Keynote, Excel or equivalent
  • Strong facilitation skills to drive a sophisticated, cross-functional, and comprehensive project plan
  • Prior experience being a developer in engineering projects / analytics product build SQL, SAS, R, SPSS, Tableau or Python

Description

You will coordinate with multi-functional teams, focused on delivering products across the People Analytics portfolio and requires navigating competing priorities. You will monitor the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending while promoting effective communication, producing documentation to drive alignment among all teams and partners involved.

We are looking for a technical analytics professional with SQL, SAS, SPSS, Python, Tableau or other analytics tools development experience who want to or have expanded into the Project Management area. This role will manage our HRBI analytics projects, prioritizing and executing the build out of the HRBI business operations function. This role can evolve into a Manager position over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Translate business objectives into execution strategy (development engineering and strategic), lead and successfully execute the strategy through strong collaboration and agile leadership
- Build a deep technical and functional understanding of the People Analytics domain and solutions
- Partner with Engineer's, Software Developer's, Analyst's, Data Scientist's, AI/ML Engineer's, Data Engineer's, Information Security, business leaders, Program Managers, People Leaders, change management, Business Process Re-engineering and IS&T engineering teams to deliver analytics products and insights
- Understand the development engineering effort involved in data migration and analytics platform build and formulate contingency plans
- Communicate the technical obstacles and project plan in a simple manner to internal partners
- Track, measure, and report on the status of all assigned programs/projects
- Drive clarity and common understanding by effectively centralizing and standardizing project information and ensure to keep teams moving forward
- Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent programs from delivering on program objectives
- Define business, functional, and reporting requirements (often writing them yourself)
- Monitor and resolve end-to-end process for things like repetitive sticking points, blockers and build plans; mitigate the sticking points to ensure the alacrity of the program
- Ensure information is cascaded to the right audiences with the appropriate priority in Slack, email and meetings
- Support the lead Program Manager and other leadership in internal initiatives to scale the PMO, such as building templates for project plans, project meetings, key project activities such as testing, etc
- Demonstrate discretion and tact in attention to key details, critical issues and communications
- Understand and work on projects with multi-functional schedules, across Analytics Engineering & Data Science team, and other Apple groups
