We are seeking a customer focused and collaborative Engineering and Systems Integration and Implementation Professional to be part of the Technology Development Department within Center 6500 Weapons and Force Protection Program. We research, develop, test, evaluate (RDT&E) and assist in the implementation of intrusion detection and mitigation technologies for a wide range of physical security applications and customers. This includes counter-unmanned aircraft systems technologies.

You will plan, lead, analyze, develop, support, implement, and test engineering solutions and systems that support a consistent mission assurance engineering system for Sandias technical programs. You will also support various aspects of the project lifecycle with a focus on requirements/change request analysis, configuration management, system testing, documentation, and implementation.

This position provides you with the opportunity to further a rigorous mission assurance ethic across Sandia by the development of a strategic and disciplined approach to the integrated application of systems engineering, quality management, and program/project management. This will be done by building upon existing frameworks and industry-standard techniques, combined with lessons learned/causal analyses from previous technical programs/projects and product lifecycles.


+ You have a bachelors degree in engineering or STEM discipline plus five or more years of experience or equivalent experience and education (AS + 9 years; MS + 2 years)
+ You possess experience in system engineering and technical management processes: project & lifecycle management, requirements engineering, configuration management, risk management, testing/verification and validation, etc.
+ Your background includes experience defining system test requirements, executing tests, and documenting findings


+ Experience with Physical Security Systems (PSS) and principles
+ Knowledge of sensor and detention technologies and their performance within a PPS
+ Experience and knowledge with the design, assembly, testing, and/or implementation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and/or Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS)
+ Ability to handle diverse security and classification requirements
+ Demonstrated experience working with and handling DoD customer relationships
+ Demonstrated ability to run technical projects, build teams necessary to support all technical aspects of work you are doing, manage and report the financials to all partners, and communication with the customer to ensure proper alignment with all expectations
+ Demonstrated experience in handling customer relationships
+ Experience in project leadership, engineering management and execution, and delivery of large, complex projects
+ Validated ability to integrate, build, and work effectively across technical teams, collaborate with customers to resolve issues, and conduct trade-offs to identify system solutions
+ Ability to manage system change requests from initiation to disposition
+ Experience creating, managing, and maintaining project and system documentation in an organized, secure and accessible manner
+ Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills, including an ability to succinctly explain complex technical concepts
+ A current and active DOE Q, DoD Top Secret, or equivalent security clearance, and can obtain SCI access, which may require a polygraph test
