Job Description

We are Intel's Validation Engineering (iVE) Group. As an Engineer Technician within the Fort Collins Validation Lab, you will participate in many innovative projects, and apply your expertise in a fast paced technically driven environment.

You'll be responsible for highly technical functional tasks in support of a variety of validation engineering activities and collaborating with Engineering Teams on cutting edge product development, troubleshooting and data collection in a socially distanced environment.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting engineering tests and troubleshooting on server validation platforms.

  • Experimental testing to collect data and assist in research work.

  • Performing initial reviews of test result and uploading output data to appropriate repositories.

  • Troubleshooting when validation platforms fail to yield desired results.

  • Performing debug or special experiments without pre-defined documentation.

  • Communicating results and prompt notification of any gating issues.

  • Build, configure, and test server validation platformsInstallation of various PC operating system and software applications.

  • Configuration/operation of industry standard test and measurement equipment for debug and data collectionInstallation and configuration of network KVMs and power distribution units.

  • Assembly of non-technical fixtures such as test benches and liquid cooled thermal tools.

  • Work in a lab environment and do occasional lifting of between 20-30lbs.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and tidiness of lab and workspace.

  • Work occasional off shift hours during Power On'sWork and participate in weekly or bi-weekly cross-site teams.

  • Wear closed toe shoes for the duration of shift.

  • Walk 3-5 miles and stand or sit for up to 9 hours within a shift.

  • Push carts for a distance of at least 500 m.

  • Climb and perform work on ladders or at heights.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experience.

- OR -

  • AA/AS with 3+ years of experience

- OR -

  • Bachelor's Degree and Installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of technical issues.

  • Windows and Linux OS.

  • PC and Server Peripherals.

  • Validation and automation principles.

  • Computer architecture.

  • CPU and Motherboard interfaces such as: Ethernet, USB, PCIe, and Memory.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of CPU and Motherboard interfaces such as: Ethernet, USB, PCIe, Memory.

  • Knowledge of server architecture.

  • Prior experience working in server CPU validation.

  • Background in electrical component debug.

  • Scripting experience (Python, etc.).

  • Soldering experience a plus.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$58,280.00-$87,320.00 (Hourly Role)
