What Your Job Will Be Like:



We are seeking a ES&H Security Compliance and Assurance Analyst.





+ Perform risk-based audits, special management reviews, and studies of Environmental, Safety, and Health, Security, and Quality (ESSH&Q) performance and compliance issues through the entire lifecycle (initial planning through final reports and follow-on activities if needed).



+ Conduct facility and work area walk-throughs and inspections and interview personnel at all levels of management.



+ Review work plans and hazard controls to determine reliability and effectiveness.



+ Advise management on best practices to resolve ESSH&Q performance and compliance issues.



+ Develop and recommend risk mitigation plans and strategies including improvements to Sandia’s policies, processes and tools that contribute to improved safety and security practices.



+ Cultivate effective communications and relations with organization leadership, ESSH&Q organizations, and broader stakeholder community including DOE.



+ Team with other auditors, assessors and subject matter experts as needed on audits



+ Develop and maintain quality audit documentation using audit management software (TeamMate).





Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's degree in STEM (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics, Engineering, audit, or related subject), plus (5) or more years of relevant experience.



+ Experience in Audits, Assessments, or Investigations.



+ Experience leading projects and working within teams to meet deliverables.



+ Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level security clearance.





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills including delivering presentations.



+ Demonstrated success in building and sustaining successful internal and external relationships.



+ Proven ability to work as part of a diverse team to meet organizational mission and objectives.



+ Demonstrated ability to meet and adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.



+ Professional certification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Nuclear Quality Assurance [NQA-1], Security, Risk Management).



+ OSHA experience.



+ Previous experience as an ES&H, Security, Risk Management and/or Quality professional.



+ Master’s Degree or higher in STEM (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics, Engineering) or related field.



+ Experience planning and executing audits and assessments and demonstrated understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and governance.



+ Familiarity with OSHA, DOE, NFPA, EPA and ISO or other standards and regulations.



+ Previous experience at a DOE or Research and Development facility.



+ Demonstrated knowledge of and experience implementing Sandia policies.

Security Clearance:



Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
