ES&H Coordinator (Experienced)

We are seeking a highly motivated Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Professional ( ES&H Coordinator) to join the team. You will play a key role to help build a strong and healthy safety culture at the Labs. You will be responsible for supporting our research and development operations with emphasis on pressure safety, electrical safety, and hazardous material management.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support and facilitate ES&H requirements, with a strong focus on customer service and partnering with line management and staff
+ Develop processes and assist in the identification and analysis of hazards and risks which may result in unsafe work conditions
+ Develop, implement and communicate organization specific ES&H policies, processes, hazard controls and tools to help staff and management meet performance expectations
+ Document and report staff and management concerns, findings, non-compliance issues and significant information in corporate data systems and through appropriate management channels
+ Provide support during ES&H audits and assessments and readiness reviews


+ Requires bachelors degree in STEM or relevant discipline plus five or more years experience applying ES&H standards in research and development or engineering/construction environments (or equivalent combination of education and experience).


+ Masters degree in STEM or relevant discipline or CSP certification
+ Strong knowledge or training in worker safety and health programs and hazard analysis
+ Hands on experience with chemical and engineering laboratory practices
+ Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, NEPA, and DOE regulations
+ Knowledge and experience in performing occupational health, safety, and environmental management related assessments and the development of corrective actions, particularly in a research and development setting
+ Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, equipment and practices, including safety practices associated with laswer systems, pressure safety, hazardous materials and electrical safety
+ Strong customer focus and ability to work well in a team focused environment.
+ Experience in applying quality tools (e.g. Lean methodology, Six Sigma).
+ Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Familiar with Project, SharePoint and, Vision. and Word.

Department Description:

The Department provides Occupational Health and Safety Engineering support services to Division 8000 site and personnel, including CA, NM and remote sites. Support includes: ES&H Coordinators, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, chemical management, safety engineering and ergonomics.

Security Clearance:
