As an Ethernet Hardware Design Engineer in EPG you will to create our next generation of Reference designs for our Ethernet products including IPUs and Ethernet Controllers. The designs you create will serve as examples for our customers and set the standard for how Intel's Ethernet Products are integrated into our customers systems. In this role, you will have a wide range of contributions collaborating with Architects, PCB designers, suppliers, validation teams and customers as we create a new category of products that will help further scale hyper scale data centers and enables new use cases for storage and networking.
The duties and
responsibilities of this role
include:
- Creating Schematic Designs using Cadence Design Entry HDL
- Reviewing PCB designs and performing critical routing with Cadence Allegro
- Collaborating with a team of PCB CAD Designers, Commodities Experts, Technicians and Program Managers build, test, and proliferate Reference Designs
- Power on, debug, and testing designs in our labs
- Working with Vendors to evaluate PCB components
- Partner with Silicon Designers, Package Designers, Architects, and Software Engineers to Specify and Optimize designs
- Supporting our customers and internal teams with documentation, specifications, and top tier technical support that understands their needs and helps them create and debug their designs
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field of study
- 4+ years of industry work experience
- Experience with design of complex systems on circuit boards using Cadence Design Entry HDL and Cadence Allegro
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field of study
- Experience debugging and providing solutions for signal integrity issues on printed circuit board designs and electrical tests systems
- Experience with Design, Debug, or Validation of systems using Ethernet, PCIe, and/or LPDDR SDRAM
- Experience with development, debug, and/or validation in the computing industry especially on Intel Servers

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
