Job Description

The Electronic Warfare (EW) Hardware in the Loop (HITL) System Engineer in the Robins Research Branch (RRB) will perform systems engineering on a small interactive research team of hardware (HW) developers, software (SW) developers, and data analysts developing HITL test systems. These systems are used to provide high fidelity simulation of real-time Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Radio Frequency (RF), and avionics environments for testing EW systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Design electronic and mechanical hardware for EW HITL systems
  • Develop and analyze EW HITL systems
  • Test and troubleshoot EW HITL systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with systems engineering processes for electronic systems
  • Experience with prototyping a newly designed hardware and/or software system (i.e., senior design project, internship, student employment)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creating and performing hardware and/or software test cases
  • Experience with drawing software packages such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging hardware and software systems
  • Hardware and software laboratory experience

US Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
