This External Foundry
Quality and Reliability Engineer position covers QnR of foundry
suppliers to ensure that Intel branded IC's manufactured externally
meet Intel quality and reliability requirements. As working with
partners and suppliers in multiple geos (Asia, Europe, and USA) is
required, the flexibility to be able to participate in meetings
outside of the typical 8 am-5 pm window when needed is essential
for this position.
This External Foundry Quality
and Reliability position is part of the Global Supply Chain
QnR/External Foundry OSAT QnR team which is accountable for QnR
performance of all Intel ICs manufactured externally at Si
Foundries and OSATs. This team partners with the Global External
Manufacturing and Sourcing (GEMS) organization on supplier
management and is part of the Corporate Quality Network (CQN). This
position requires a breadth of relevant knowledge and experience in
semiconductor manufacturing processes, device physics, failure
mechanisms, IC product qualification methodologies, and an overview
of product design and testing.
The
External Foundry Quality and Reliability Engineer will be
responsible for but not limited
to:
Development and sustaining phases of QnR activities.
Key tasks during development include risk assessment of supplier process and driving the associated risk mitigation activities to meet Intel certification expectations, providing support for product qual activities, driving resolution to any supplier issues gating product qual, and new supplier quality system expectation alignment.
During the HVM phase, key tasks include hold disposition, excursion management, change control, supplier audit, and driving supplier continuous improvement.
Enable successful product development and HVM, the QRE in this position must work both independently as well as across a wide variety of internal groups/content experts, multiple geos, and external foundry/suppliers.
Maturity and experience to move up the foundry QnR learning curve very quickly, and demonstrate the aptitude to contribute rapidly to group key results.
Expertise to work effectively across a wide variety of internal groups and with many content experts, multiple geos, and external foundry/suppliers is essential to success.
Excellent teamwork, customer orientation, and communication skills.
Comfortable working independently as well as in virtual teams, and interface with a wide variety of functional groups. Lead projects when needed.
Qualifications
You
must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially
considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in
addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus
factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Physics,
or equivalent field, with 5+ years relevant experience in
at least one of the
following:
Reliability Physics.
Wafer fab process.
Device Physics.
Product Quality, or Reliability practices.
IC and Wafer testing.
Failure Analysis.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Technical Data Analysis skills.
Supplier management skills.
Advanced Quality Management System skills.
Systems thinking approaches are also critical.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
