What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you passionate about working in a high functioning, inter-disciplinary collaborative team in facilities management? If so, Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Technologist to join our team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Performs a variety of facilities-related functions, including computer-aided drafting and design; work preparation; inspection, monitoring, and control of facility systems and components; technical interface between facilities staff and building occupants; and monitoring and analyzing equipment performance.

+ Work to monitor time charges and compliance for all Davis Bacon Act (DBA) covered work.

+ Performs general facility systems or equipment maintenance or repairs as required.

+ Solves problems and makes recommendations regarding facility operating equipment and systems, to include DBA covered work.

+ Reports and tracks progress toward goals for schedules and costs related to facility equipment.

+ Works with facility engineers on the technical aspects of construction, design, start-up, or operations support and maintenance.

+ Works with DBA Compliance Officer to ensure compliance within Facilities Maximo system.

+ Supports operational capabilities within facilities, including construction safety, permitting, document control, space management, energy monitoring, and information technology applications.

+ Understands and adheres to all applicable SNL and industry regulatory and safety guidelines.

+ Ensures all results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.

Qualifications We Require:

+ High school diploma plus two (2) or more years of space management-related experience or experience working for a facilities organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Knowledge and experience in facility maintenance activities, including mechanical, electrical, and Structural Departments.

+ Knowledge and understanding Facilities Maximo System.

+ Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configurations, and lockout/tagout policies and procedures.

+ Understanding of various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents including drawings, schematics, and operations manuals.

About Our Team:

Department 4743, Structural Services, provides preventive and corrective maintenance on all administrative locks, painting, building structural systems and equipment, pedestrian pathways, fences, gates, parking lots, roadways--both improved (asphalt and concrete) and unimproved, water deliveries to water storage tanks, cranes and hoists, and landscape areas. The department also provides excavation and emergency support to Sandia National Laboratories when requested by the Incident Commander.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
