Facilities Technologist - Structural Planner/ Mechanical Utilities Planner (Experienced) - Limited Term Employee

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Serve as the Structural to support the Maintenance Planning Services Organization.
+ Improve craft of productivity and safety.
+ Perform tasks in asset identification management process, participate in O&M strategy, RCM, develop Maximo PMs, job plans, standards/estimates, and preventive maintenance tasks.
+ Ensure accuracy and consistency of Master Equipment List (MEL).
+ Partner closely with key partners and serve as the SME for PM job plans to ensure accurate/thorough work packages that are ready for scheduling/execution.
+ Identify area/site and equipment related ES&H hazards and notify Safety Engineer as needed.
+ Determine level of planning needed based on identified area, asset, and/or task-related hazards. Conduct field scoping as necessary.
+ Review corrective maintenance job plans.
+ Modify/clarify job plans; reserve/order materials; send work orders to O&M Teams.
+ Performs technical work to support engineering and maintenance activities for construction, maintenance, inspection, and facilities and infrastructure system operations.

Serve as the Mechanical Utilities Infrastructure Planner:

+ Be accountable for the Maintenance Planning process for an assigned team.
+ Build and publish scheduling model for each assigned maintenance team based on work type and priority historical data and team role.
+ Lead monthly backlog reviews with Maintenance Team Leaders.
+ Review all incoming work orders and perform all necessary planning tasks.
+ Work closely with key partners to ensure accurate and thorough work packages that are ready for scheduling and execution.
+ Back up other O&M Planners.
+ Produce area/customer schedule reports in support of the Customer Operations Teams.
+ Review (WAPPR) work orders and detail the orders (work type, priority, target start, JSHE/Access codes, job plan, estimated time, labor, materials, etc.) in a timely manner.
+ Initiate and/or obtain permits and coordinate planned outages and impairments.
+ Clarify job plans; reserve/order materials; send work orders to O&M Teams.

You will be required to pass a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that you can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations.

Required:

+ High School Diploma plus five (5) years of related experience; or an Associate degree in a field related to Engineering Technology plus one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience in facilities building infrastructure maintenance and operations.
+ Experience using CMMS software system for asset management and work order systems.
+ Scheduling and Planning experience in a maintenance field.

Desired:

+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
+ Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) by the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals, Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Project Management Professional (PMP) or BOMA Professional.
+ Certification in Commercial HVAC/R Technology, Machine Tool Technology or maintenance related field with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical.
+ Five (5) year Approved Apprenticeship Program Certification.
+ Five (5) years experience as a Machine Repair Tradesperson.
+ Possess an active current State Journeyman License.
+ Experience using Maximo software system.
+ Background in Facilities Risk Management Root Cause Analysis.
+ Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) environments.
+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, etc.)
+ Strong team and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team.
+ Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
+ Active DOE/DOD Security Clearance.
+ Deep understanding of Facilities processes and procedures.

Department Description:

The Maintenance Planning Team is responsible for planning and scheduling of all work for the Centralized Maintenance teams in the Infrastructure Operations Center, 4700. This includes creating a complete work package for each job to include a detailed scope of work, materials needed, hazards associated with the work and controls needed to mitigate the hazards. In addition, this group collects, trends, and analyzes predictive maintenance data to determine equipment condition and implementation of condition-based maintenance work. They develop and analyze key maintenance performance indicators including quarterly dashboard, monthly department measures, and quarterly RTBF metrics.

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
