Intel's Technology Development Analytics and Technology Automation (TD ATA) organization hires talented engineers to create, develop, test, and support factory automation systems that enable Intel to manufacture leading edge semiconductors. As a System Software Architect within TD ATA Central Engineering team, you will partner with other software engineers to design, develop, deliver and support integrated software solutions for Intel's wafer fab, substrate, board, and advanced assembly/test factories.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Architecting best-fit factory automation capabilities using technical leadership in current automation application features/data modelling and applying best-in-class standardized software design principles.
  • Building and sustaining data and software design standards to be adopted by automation engineers that enable clear functional and data partitioning, facilitate reusability across module/flow variations and diminish factory interruptions due to automation.
  • Leading technical teams of automation and manufacturing engineers to develop and enhance integrated solutions that provide functional extensibility.
  • Translating business requirements into data/technical requirements.
  • Working as part of a software development team focusing on manufacturing data pipeline to create robust, reliable, and high-performance application and database systems that achieve customer requirements.

This is a senior position, and the candidate is expected to provide technical expertise on systems design and deployment.


  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10 or more years of experience with designing and developing integrated factory automation software, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar large scale application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Semiconductor factory automation software design and development
  • Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, .NET)
  • Object Oriented Programming (C#, C++)
  • Oracle or Microsoft SQLServer database technologies
  • Middle tier architectures
  • Transaction processing

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
