Intel Corporation's Technology Development Quality and Reliability (TDQR) group is looking to fill an engineering position in the area of fault isolation (FI) of test vehicles and lead products on Intel's next-generation processes. A portion of the FI Engineer's time will be dedicated to locating induced reliability failures.
The Fault Isolation Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Use their CMOS, device physics, circuit design, and logic design knowledge together with tools and good problem-solving skills to identify the one unique faulty net causing the unit to fail. This will require the Engineer to verify failing units on functional testers, utilize modern techniques in fault isolation such as IREM, LADA, and TIVA, and apply a clear understanding of the architecture to locate fails quickly and reliably. Training will be provided on these tools, techniques, and product architecture however the Engineer will be expected to stay abreast of cutting-edge methods and designs through interactions with teams across Intel.
- Demonstrate communication skills as the individual will interface extensively with failure analysis, quality and reliability, test, and design engineers to understand and explain the failure.
- The Engineer will also be expected to have the vision and creativity to define the present and future Intel needs in the area of fault isolation, to initiate and deliver development projects designed to meet these needs by advancing the state-of-the-art techniques used in fault isolation, and to propagate these projects throughout the company. This may include the development of new test patterns and software, designing and executing proof of concepts or principles projects which demonstrate new techniques and /or tools, and providing technical leadership in Intel / Supplier tool and technique development teams.
- The individual will be expected to effectively represent the group in various technical and management review meetings.

This is an entry-level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience can be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a Master's or P.h.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field of study.
- 6+ months of experience
in at least one of the
following:
- Digital/analog circuit analysis and device physics.
- Computer programming experience and at least basic Unix skills.
