Job Summary:
The Sensor section at the Mission Capability and Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range, NM is searching for a qualified HVAC Field Engineer, supporting the AN/TPY-2 Tactical HVAC operations domestically and internationally. The candidate will be involved in the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshoot and modification of radar Environmental Controls, HVAC systems and subsystems on the AN/TPY-2 Environmental Control System (ECS).

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Perform installation, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshoot and modification of radar Environmental Controls, HVAC systems and subsystems.
  • Implement preventive maintenance program to maintain efficient performance of systems and maintain records of all correction actions to systems
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to domestic and international remote locations
  • Work long hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations
  • Will be exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • 2 (two) + years of relevant HVAC experience
  • Enrolled in, or a graduate from a HVAC technical program
  • EPA 608 Certified or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Ability to Maintain, install and repair of industrial refrigeration, air conditioning mechanical components to include but not limited to
    • DDC Controls
    • Temperature, Humidity and Electrical test equipment
    • Have the ability to solder and braze
  • Effective communicator, Strong verbal and written skill set
    • Must be able to write process plans and other required documents.
  • An active and in-scope SECRET US security clearance or the ability to obtain an interim clearance in a reasonable time frame.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of relevant experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools
  • Punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • The ability to provide Mil-Spec work on Tactical Equipment
  • Electrical wiring knowledge
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper storage of chemicals
  • Ability to work across different domains
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
  • Be able to carry and lift 50 pounds, access confined spaces, and climb tall ladders

This position can be a Field Service Analyst or a Senior Field Service Analyst, based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Location Information:
This position is located at White Sands Missile Range. The majority of the supporting workforce live in the surrounding cities of Alamogordo, NM, Las Cruces, NM or El Paso, TX. One of the unique features of this area is being centrally located to summer (skiing, boating) and winter Skiing, snowboarding) activities.
