Salary Range:

$99,700 - $166,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

Organization 10521, Retirement Investment Management, is currently a seeking a self-motivated Distinguished Financial Policy and Compliance Accountant whose education, experience, and interests support a role working with Retirement Plans! The selected candidate will act as the primary lead for the small team of individuals supporting accounting, auditing, compliance, and risk control activities for NTESS defined benefit and defined contribution Retirement Plans and corporate risk insurances.

Successful candidates for this position will be able to advise senior/executive management on retirement plans matters. They will lead diverse lab wide teams and respond to ad hoc requests from internal and external entities that require in-depth financial analysis.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

+ Work collaboratively and/ or lead cross-functional teams to facilitate and drive integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions to complex operational or compliance issues.

+ Advise executive, division, and labs-level leadership on plan interpretation, risk and compliance impacts, operational, or plan administration challenges of lab leadership decisions

+ Prepare financial statements, compliance filings, and plan data analysis for complex issues working across teams and organizational lines

+ Lead external audit interactions and internal control activities related to retirement plans

+ Develop relationships and participate in interactions with internal and external service providers on matters of plans administration, compliance, and sponsor requirements

+ Develop and maintain business relationships across the laboratory, complex, and DOE/ NNSA oversight to facilitate benchmarking and complex wide issues

+ Engage in communication with participants, lab leadership, and oversight entities concerning matters of plan design and administration, compliance, and operational authority

+ Respond to benchmarking and data requests within the DOE

+ Develop solutions to problems of significant and unusual complexity which require the use of ingenuity and innovation

+ Provide analysis of risk, compliance requirements, and plan design information and recommendations on a corporate level

+ Review all significant Retirement Plans compliance reporting deliverables for accuracy and reasonableness

+ Serve as the Sandia Delegated Representative (SDR) on various external subcontracts with service providers

+ Provide subject matter expertise to lab leadership regarding corporate liability and workers compensation insurance plans

+ Provide support as a corporate resource to executive management

Qualifications We Require:

+ A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a relevant field, plus 12 years related experience; or a Master’s degree in above, plus 8 years related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job

+ 5 years proven experience as a Licensed Certified Public Accountant

+ 5 years proven experience with cross-functional teams in a complex, compliance related environment

+ The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Knowledge of Retirement Plans ERISA compliance requirements

+ The ability to organize, establish priorities, lead, and implement business and financial assignments to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities

+ The ability to integrate with leadership and interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel to build effective working relations, reach consensus, negotiate and address risk, compliance, and operational issues

+ The demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple deliverables with competing deadlines and priorities

+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills

+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply these skills to resolve complex business issues

+ Knowledge of Sandia Policies, Benefits, and Prime Contract requirements

Department 10521, Retirement Investment Management, is responsible for the management and oversight, and the financial compliance and reporting of NTESS's pension fund and 401(k) assets, and the administration of corporate liability and workers compensation insurances.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
