What Your Job Will Be Like:





We are seeking a motivated General Technologists that enjoys building and maintaining computing systems and resources to join our R&D team. You will support a diverse team of scientists and engineers and manage day-to-day operation of up to 100 computing resources including laptops, desktops, servers, cloud resources, single-board computers, virtual machines, and you will use and build customized scripts that automate routine tasks.



On any given day you may be called upon to:





+ Monitor R&D computing resources and ensure compliance with policy



+ Perform maintenance of software and hardware (e.g., replacing computing components, updating software for R&D instrumentation, etc.)



+ Build new computing desktops and servers for new projects and high performance computing task



+ Assist other technologists to set up and prepare equipment, computers, and security system components for field testing



+ Participate in field test activities and data analysis





Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 80% of the time





Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Systems Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience



+ Experience setting up and maintaining networks



+ Experience in Linux and Windows operating systems



+ Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level security clearance





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Knowledge of MacOS



+ Basic programming experience is required, with preference for expertise in Python and Bash scripting.



+ Time management & task prioritization skills is required.



+ Experience with reverse engineering of software (embedded, middleware, applications, etc)

Security Clearance:
