What Your Job Will Be Like:

Our team is ready to welcome a highly motivated and productive individual to join our department! With the responsibility of multi-million-dollar inventory management, test equipment calibration, and acquisition, you will perform a variety of duties in support of technical activities areas of electrical instrumentation usage, testing and data collection. In addition to the technical responsibilities, you will also support our technical project planning, be responsible for the equipment calibration schedules and work with a variety of internal organizations.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Work closely with Technologists, Engineers, Management, and Primary Standards Laboratory (PSL) staff to ensure all equipment calibrations are current and technically satisfactory for the organization. This responsibility requires to coordinate with project leads, track and catalog equipment being calibrated.

+ Perform daily and weekly project acquisitions, including ordering and purchasing equipment, cables, fittings, electronics, and other hardware and software.

+ Work in a dynamic small team environment and manage time according to work demands.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Associates degree

+ Experience with electronic systems and computer operations and maintenance

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance along with Sigma 15

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Experience with electrical diagnostics such as electromagnetic field probes, antennas, current and voltage probes, attenuator

+ Experience with instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, meters, network analyzers for sweeping attenuators and measurement components

+ Knowledge of the SNL procurement system for obtaining parts and materials including experience as a Sandia Delegated Representative (SDR) for the organization, and PCARD management experience

+ Experience with Cyber Security protocols such as Controlled Articles Registration Process (CARP)

+ Experience with managing the calibration cycle on instrumentation including familiarity with the Primary Standards Laboratory (PSL) equipment tracking system and the PSL equipment calibration flow protocols.

+ Excellent communication skills, ability to work with a team, and ability to complete individually assigned job duties

About Our Team:

The 01354 Electromagnetics Systems Engineering and Qualification department provides analysis, design guidance, and experimental measurements to support nuclear weapon qualification requirements. The department operates and maintains the world’s largest 4.5m GTEM (Gigahertz Transverse Electromagnetic Cell) providing system response to radiated electromagnetic field environments. The same facility provides high field polarized pulsed environments for EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) environment response testing. A 4m Mode-Stirred chamber (Reverberation Chamber) is also employed in the 01354 department to provide omni-directional polarization radiated electromagnetic environments for system response testing. We typically cover frequencies 200MHz to 40GHz. The 01354 department are Conducted Susceptibility testing and Electrostatic Discharge testing. A 200kA severe Sandia Lightning Simulator is also part of the 01354 department for system qualification testing.

The Electromagnetics Systems Engineering and Qualification department is looking for a senior experienced Engineering Support Technologists to support the buildup of a large capacitive discharge testing facility (10m Nearby Lightning Simulator) to support nuclear weapon testing that is critical to the interests of national security.

Security Clearance:
