General Technologist (Experienced)

We are seeking a General Technologist to support experienced engineers with evidence gathering, limited troubleshooting, depot spare management, inventory of IT and electronics equipment/parts, assembly of parts into spares, and testing of internally developed hardware and systems in a variety of research and development projects. Assist with laboratory maintenance and safety processes. Some office work and presentation preparation will also be necessary. Strong organization skills and an attention to detail are a must.


+ You have 5 years of relevant experience


+ You have an Associate's degree in Computing, Engineering, or Science discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
+ You are proficient in MS Office tools
+ You exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
+ You have demonstrated ability to thrive in a teaming environment
+ You are capable of multitasking and taking direction from members of technical staff
+ Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation
+ Familiar with various training operations
+ Familiar with the Linux operating system
+ Your experience includes Systems Engineering disciplines particularly Requirements Management and Configuration Management
+ Experience with computer control systems or electronics
+ Experience with, or an aptitude for working with hardware and instrumentation
+ Experience with laboratory environment, health and safety concerns, lab maintenance activities
+ Familiarity with process improvement activities such as Lean 6, ISO, CMMi and ITIL
+ You have an active DOE Q or DoD TS clearance and SCI

Department Description:

USNDS Ground Lifecycle Engineering is responsible for the project management, systems engineering, and operations of the satellite ground systems that support the US capability to monitor the earths atmosphere and surrounding space for nuclear detonations. This department serves as one of the technical interfaces to the Air Force for projects within the United States Nuclear Detonation (NUDET) Detection System (USNDS) Ground Program, which include the Integrated Correlation and Display System (ICADS) and the Ground NDS Terminal (GNT). In addition, the team works closely with Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) operators to support real-time missions, resolve and analyze anomalies, and define ground system requirements.
