Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in Warner Robins, GA has opportunities for a Geospatial Intelligence Engineer researcher within the Sensor and Electromagnetic Application Laboratory (SEAL). The mission of SEAL’s Intelligence engineers is to perform analysis, architecture development and design, and engineering functions for complex systems, which includes sensor performance, signal processing, electronic warning, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems deployed on land, air and sea.

The successful candidate will:

  • Aid in the continued development and implementation of the Open Architecture baseline that will meet the current and future requirements being levied on the system by the Aircraft Combat Command (ACC).
  • Provide input to the architecture team to create Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) drawings sets that will be used in both the support of fielding the Open Architecture baseline and in the development of a modeling and simulation (M&S) toolset that will be used to track the impacts of modifications to the baseline. The candidate shall work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure that GEOINT components, data flows, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and requirements are accurately represented in the model.
  • Work with ACC and the System Program Office (SPO) representation and the weapon system users to make recommendations for the integration of technical plans so that technology maturity, system modernizations requirements, and systems engineering aspects associated with weapon system’s performance, survivability/vulnerability, and system effectiveness are accurately identified.
  • Perform system and integrated concept analyses to ascertain the maturity of project implementation and future and emerging capabilities. The conduct of readiness assessments includes the development and analysis of employment alternatives and technology and operational architectures to ensure outcomes are contextually viable.
  • Provide mission analysis and effects reports associated with baselining mission assurance of system elements and integrated infrastructure, such as timely and effective processes; delivery systems; ground equipment support systems; aircraft integration analysis, and command and control systems.
  • Analyze the impact in changes to Air Force guidance on weapon employment and quantify the impacts these policy/guidance changes could have on the conduct of the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) operations, maintenance and sustainment. The candidate shall analyze ACC, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), and Wing existing or proposed policies or policy changes, quantify the required end state those policies mandate and recommend courses of action for implementation in emerging policy and guidance.
  • Be available to the government to perform a Trade Study Technology Evaluation with the goal to create a model or models for evaluating and selecting relevant emerging technology solutions and assisting in build-buy decisions. The model will include the framework for developing and implementing the selected solutions into the architecture.
  • Provide engineering inputs to documentation and presentations required for fielding and testing. This shall include, but is not limited to, Security Impact Analysis forms, Request for Change forms, Configuration Control Board presentations, Change Advisory Board presentations, etc.
