Intel's XAE Gen Compute Arch (GCA) Team, develops best in class GPU compute technology that is a critical part of our major product lines. We are looking for passionate and driven GPU Architecture engineers to help define and build the next generation GPU architectures, analyze deep learning networks and high performance compute (HPC) workloads to identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize the architecture to maximize efficiency. The compute architecture team is responsible for architecture analysis and improvements to support the current Gen architectural process and beyond.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research on emerging deep learning networks, HPC workloads and algorithms, and requirement on Gen computer architecture.
  • Analyze and report out workload performance on new Gen compute architecture.
  • Optimize Gen compute architecture to maximize performance of a variety of deep learning networks
  • Collaborate with other architecture, modeling, and research teams and report out findings to broader cross organization forums

  • Strong problem solving and leadership in driving execution across different functional team
  • Experience explaining complex technical concepts.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields with 3+ years of industry experience. OR Masters in the same field with 1+ years of experience. OR a PhD in the same field of study.

Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by December of 2021

Your experience should be in the following:

  • Programming skills: C/C++ or python
  • GPU programming OR machine learning OR high performance compute (HPC)
  • Computer architecture or GPU architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep learning workload understanding, e.g. CNN, NLP, RNN etc.
  • Machine learning kernel development experience in GPU

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
