Intel's XAE Gen Compute Arch (GCA) team develops best in class GPU compute technology that is a critical part of our major product lines. We are looking for passionate and driven individuals to help define and build the next generation of highly efficient GPU architectures for Intel. Looking for a promising engineer with potential to grow into architecture role and join our team


In this role you will help us the following responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Analyzing new emerging workloads for GPGPU such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, High-Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Performance and power modelling, compiler optimization, workload analysis and performance debug to identify bottlenecks and drive resolution through hardware and/or software fixes.
  • Develop highly optimized GPU kernels and work with partner teams to help deliver high performant solutions.
  • Assess new SW/HW innovations and drive the most relevant into the GPU Architecture definition.


Minimum skills and experience:

Must have a Bachelor in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields with 5+ years of industry experience.  Or a Master in the same field with 3+ years of industry experience.  Or a PhD  in the same field with 1+ years of  education or  industry experience.  PhD must be completed by September 2022.

Your experience must be in the following:

  • GPU/CPU Architecture
  • Compiler optimization and GPU programming


Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience in building analytical and/or simulation-based performance models and in Performance Analysis/Perf Debug.
  • Knowledge/Experience in OpenCL/CUDA/Metal or other such parallel programming APIs.
  • Knowledge/Experience in GPU compiler design and machine learning compiler optimization.
  • Experience/Knowledge in Machine Learning/Deep Learning and experience with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow is a big plus.
  • Experience in uarch/RTL/Design/process technologies a big plus.
  • Should have an aptitude to learn new things quickly in this fast-changing domain and flexibility to work on any mix of the above roles as needed.
