What Your Job Will Be Like:









We are seeking a Reapplication Team Member







On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Perform the full spectrum of Reapplication operations.



+ Account for excess property and materials submitted to Reapplication from pickup to final disposition.



+ Transport materials and property operating a variety of multiple transmission heavy duty vehicles between on-base, local, and immediate vicinity locations. Load and unload vehicles; service equipment; and complete associated tickets and forms.



+ Receive, sort, inspect, identify, store, and prepare excess property for final disposition.



+ Evaluate received materials for security and non-proliferation concerns and segregate those items for controlled disposition.



+ Disassemble multi-unit equipment into individual components using basic hand tools.



+ Perform minor maintenance and repair where feasible.



+ Duties require standing and walking, occasionally lifting and moving items weighing up to 60 pounds.



+ Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, crouching, and other range of motion activities.



+ Somewhat disagreeable conditions when working outside (heat and cold) and inclement weather such as rain, wind, and blowing dust, but not continuously.



+ Maintain cleanliness and safety of Reapplication facility and work areas through routine housekeeping.



+ As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.

Qualifications We Require:















REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND GAUGES USED:





+ Heavy duty multiple transmission vehicles including stake bed trucks, delivery vans, and tractors with flatbed trailers (if qualified with a Class A Commercial Drivers License); material handling equipment such as forklifts up to and including 20,000 lbs. lifting capacity; skids, dollies, pallet jacks, metal strapping and plastic wrapping machines, tie down chains and boomers, ropes, nylon straps, pads, and common hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, saws, lug wrenches, brooms, and other similar items.





MAJOR DUTIES:





+ Receive work assignments, evaluate current priorities, plan effective routes and activities,



+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Drivers License



+ Perform pickups of materials submitted to Reapplication and delivery of requested materials to locations across the Laboratories safely, efficiently, and effectively.



+ Coordinate pickup with Requesters as needed or when requested.



+ Operate a variety of multiple transmission heavy duty vehicles to transport materials.



+ Evaluate the contents of each pickup/delivery for prohibited items and account for all trackable property submitted for pickup/delivery. Load and unload items utilizing material handling equipment as necessary and perform required securing and shoring of loads to avoid shifting during transit.



+ Complete various forms such as delivery/trip tickets, logs, and associated records daily.



+ Perform incidental duties such as checking air pressure and mounting spare tire in case of flats, checking gas and oil, and similar servicing and monitoring activities to maintain equipment in proper operating condition.



+ Report operational defects to proper personnel/agencies. Unload trucks and examine incoming material/property for hazardous, radioactive, high risk, classified or explosive items and segregate as needed.



+ Check all material/property for functionality, export control restrictions, and route to correct disposition path; perform sanitization and dismantlement activities on all computers and property with data storage devices.



+ Store items that could be damaged by exposure to weather in a sheltered area.



+ Ensure all trackable property is accounted for and record each items storage location. Arrange/rearrange property/material for optimum space utilization.



+ Take physical inventories, locate stock, and resolve discrepancies.



+ Perform unclassified and classified document and electronic media destruction using large disintegration machinery.



+ Pickup and deliver destruction bags to the destruction location.



+ Inspect contents to ensure no prohibited materials or unauthorized items are introduced into the machinery. Safeguard and secure classified material mixed with unclassified material.



+ Monitor capacity of residue material containers and assist in operations to remove container to allow for emptying and reconnect as needed.



+ Maintain cleanliness of disintegration operation facility. Prepare all material/property declared as surplus for auction services subcontractor personnel to pick up.



+ Load auction services subcontractor trailers and record contents to ensure accurate record keeping.



+ Perform scrap metal hopper pickup/transfer activities.



+ Assist screeners/visitors to Reapplication in locating property/material.



+ Assist in identification of high risk items and assure high risk items do not leave Sandia National Laboratories.



+ On a part time basis, assign work to and instruct lower graded employees engaged in receiving, dismantling, recovering, and storing equipment and material.



+ Perform work with due consideration to the principles of ES&H and Quality.

Qualifications We Desire:









+ Demonstrated history of high performance, highly motivated and strong commitment to teamwork and working in a team-oriented environment



+ Strong customer service and interpersonal relationship skills



+ Ability to work alone and to prioritize work based on changing conditions



+ Prior experience with warehouse/inventory management operations



+ Prior experience managing property and performing inventories and reconciling discrepancies



+ Experience operating large capacity delivery vehicles (i.e. large stake-bed trucks, delivery vans, etc.) to pick up and deliver materials



+ Experience using a handheld bar code scanner to account for materials and reconciling differences/locating missing items



+ Experience with electronic work order management systems (i.e. MAXIMO, Move-It, etc.)



+ Experience/certification in forklift operation



+ Active Department of Energy Q clearance
